Wat Doi Suthep and wat Umong

Pick up from the hotel and first visit at temple wat Umong ,was found by the first king of Chiangamai called Mengrai , late of the time was decorated with tunnel man made using as a resident for a group of MAHAtHERA monk who came a visit and spread out the Buddhist in the reign of King Kuena,is located in the south of Chiangmai university ,contain of Bell shape pagoda which is influenced from Sukhothai, Burmese , Lanka Buddhist and top with lotus bud shape shown its unique Sukhothai style mixed , also up there on the pagoda where a part of umbrella decorated with statues of angels which can be found only in this temple . The Wat Umong was copied by a garden of Suanmok created by Phuthathat Pikku ,a professor monk who pass away and was well known about teaching Buddhist. “Buddhadasa Bhikkhu” is a noble monk to whom UNESCO dedicated its purpose in 2006. He is an important person who uses polydharma to lead society, formerly known as Ngueum Phanit, Chaiya District, Surat Thani. there is his statues in front of the tunel. Inside the tunel there are still wall paintings that are about 500 year.

Now The temple came to be a center of meditation contains with some building and accept people staying in a brief time with a group, if you are interested, please contact us, there is a big pond where you can feed some fish, birds, and turtles that they are freedom. Local Thai people go there for making a merit by feeding animals on occasion of birthday, Buddhist day for receiving your good day too. Children are recommended this temple.

After this we will go up to the mountain Doi Suthep , following of his name of a hermit Suthep who practiced on this mountain , here you will see the beautiful view of the city and his golden pagoda in architectures of completed Lanna Thai style made of wood craving and cement on the base of the building , the Naga stair case with 7 heads protecting and strong guardian .The relic of the Lord buddha was kept under ground and top with the pagoda decorated with gold leave ,impressive and recommended.
